Assistant Forklift Manager
At Trevelyan’s, our people are at the heart of everything we
do. We’re looking for an experienced and capable Assistant Forklift Manager to
support the leadership of our forklift operations and help ensure the safe and
efficient movement of fruit and materials across site.
This is a hands-on leadership role supporting forklift teams
and equipment across our packhouse and coolstore operations.
Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role
Reporting to the Forklift Manager, you’ll assist with the
day-to-day management of forklift staff and operations across the site. You’ll
help ensure the team is well resourced, trained, and operating safely while
supporting the coordination of forklift activities across multiple departments.
This role requires strong operational awareness, people leadership, and the ability to respond quickly to changing production demands.
Your mahi will include:
- Supporting the management of forklift drivers, supervisors, and yard marshals
- Assisting with planning and resourcing forklift teams across seasonal demands
- Allocating forklift drivers to tasks based on skill and operational needs
- Supporting team rostering, shifts, breaks, and weekend coverage
- Ensuring operators are trained, licensed, and operating safely
- Supporting maintenance coordination and reporting equipment issues
- Working closely with Packhouse, Coolstore, Packaging, and Allocations teams
- Monitoring forklift operations to ensure product moves efficiently across site
- Supporting Health &
Safety initiatives, training, and incident management

You’re a practical and confident operator with strong leadership potential. You enjoy supporting teams, solving operational challenges, and maintaining safe, efficient workflows in a busy environment.
You’ll bring:
- Leadership or supervisory experience (or readiness to step into leadership)
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Sound judgement and problem-solving ability
- A proactive, team-focused approach
- A strong commitment to Health & Safety
While not essential, you may also hold a forklift license and have experience operating a forklift. If you don't - no problems! We have the ability to train and develop these skills on site if required.
