Auditing and Compliance Manager


We’re looking for an experienced and detail-driven Auditing and Compliance Manager to lead internal auditing and compliance across our Harvest, Packhouse and Coolstore operations. This is a key role focused on ensuring our quality systems are robust, risks are identified and compliance standards are consistently met across the business.

Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Quality & Compliance, you’ll be responsible for planning and delivering internal audits, maintaining compliance systems and supporting continuous improvement across the organisation for our kiwifruit and avocado operations. You’ll work closely with teams to ensure quality standards, regulatory requirements and documented systems are upheld.

Your mahi will include:

  • Planning and conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with company systems, standards and procedures
  • Identifying risks, non-conformances and opportunities for improvement and ensuring corrective actions are completed
  • Analysing audit data and reporting findings across Harvest, Packhouse and Coolstore operations
  • Maintaining and improving compliance systems to meet customer and regulatory requirements (MPI, Zespri, BioGro and BRC)
  • Reviewing and updating key documentation including Packhouse and compliance manuals
  • Managing document control processes to ensure accurate, up-to-date policies and procedures
  • Conducting both avocado GAP and Zespri GAP audits
  • Supporting traceability processes including annual tracebacks and mass balance reconciliations
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting lean practices across the business
  • Promoting and contributing to a strong health, safety and sustainability culture
  • Coaching and supporting staff to understand and meet compliance and quality expectations

He kōrero mōu | About you

You’ll bring:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in auditing within a regulated environment
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and quality standards (e.g. HACCP, BRC, GAP, BioGro)
  • Experience with MPI and or Zespri systems and compliance requirements
  • Advanced auditing and HACCP qualifications (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and engage stakeholders
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and build capability in others
  • A calm, proactive approach with sound judgement and decision-making skills
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, sustainability and safe work practices
