Field Manager

At Trevelyan’s, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re looking for an experienced orchard leader, fluent in a Pacific Island language, to lead our RSE field team and deliver great results for our growers while looking after the people who make it happen.

Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

Reporting to the Head of People and Safety, you’ll own supervision, training and labour outcomes for our RSE placements across growers and Trevelyan’s Managed Orchards (TMO). You’ll be the go-to person for orchard-side RSE matters, balancing grower expectations, productivity and worker wellbeing, while keeping us supporting compliance with Immigration NZ rules.

Your mahi will include:

• Leading, hiring and training our RSE Supervisors and Team Leaders across all placements
• Owning grower relationships for RSE labour and planning, and working through issues before they escalate
• Auditing placements for consistent supervision, training and pay standards
• Keeping pay rates, productivity targets and labour budgets on track
• Upholding health, safety and pastoral care on orchard, including toolbox talks, PPE and incident reporting
• Making sure hours, jobs and timesheets are accurate and approved each week in Tatou and ReadyWorkforce

You’re a hands-on orchard leader with the technical credibility to hold authority across placements and the people skills to bring out the best in your supervisors. You communicate clearly, handle commercial conversations with confidence, make sound calls and stay calm when the pressure’s on. Most of all, you lead with integrity and genuine care for your team.

You’ll bring:

• Fluency in Samoan
• Hands-on orchard experience, including pruning and picking
• Around 3 to 5 years in horticulture, agriculture or a similar hands-on industry, ideally including leading people
• A strong understanding of the RSE scheme and health and safety obligations
• Coaching, influencing and conflict management skills, with experience supporting diverse cultural groups
