Orchard Manager


We’re seeking an experienced Orchard Manager to lead orchard operations across a portfolio of kiwifruit orchards in Te Puke. This hands-on role focuses on delivering results in line with Orchard Management Plans while building strong, professional relationships with growers and orchard teams.

Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

Reporting to the Orchard Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for maximising orchard productivity and quality while ensuring best-practice orchard management, effective labour coordination, and strong financial and sustainability outcomes.

Your mahi will include:

  • Manage day-to-day orchard operations in line with Orchard Management Plans
  • Work closely with growers to maximise orchard performance and returns
  • Lead and support Orchard Supervisors and orchard teams
  • Coordinate labour, contractors, and services within agreed budgets
  • Monitor orchard health, crop outcomes, and production targets
  • Manage budgets, reporting, and compliance requirements
  • Ensure Health & Safety, sustainability, and company standards are met
  • Support continuous improvement and lean practices

You’ll bring:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in orchard or kiwifruit orchard management
  • Strong practical knowledge of orchard operations and production
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and support orchard teams
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships with growers and stakeholders
  • Experience managing budgets, contractors, and work programmes
  • Organised, proactive, and able to problem-solve in a fast-paced, outdoor environment
  • A genuine interest in sustainable and continuous improvement practices
